World War II government contract records : contracts, technical reports, and other records, 1941-1947 (inclusive).

Contains records relating to World War II contracts with the U.S. Office of Scientific Research and Development undertaken by the Electro/Psycho-Acoustic Laboratory, as well as other laboratories and individual researchers in medicine, chemistry, physics, engineering, and other fields. Technical reports dominate the collection, but correspondence, notebooks, contracts, and administrative material are also present. Most of the records were assembled at the end of the war by the War Archives Office, gathered from researchers all over the University. Material of a more formal nature, notably contracts and official documents concerning them, were maintained by the Treasurer's and other University financial offices.

The Psycho-Acoustic Laboratory was established in 1940 to conduct research on speech, hearing, and communications during World War II.
